Kyle Duplantis

"The RLC role had a huge impact on me. It pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and gave me a ton of transferable skills for whichever role I find myself in the future. I enjoyed how many "areas" of higher ed the position allowed me to experience. From traditional housing duties to budgeting, recruitment, orientation, camps, conduct, risk management, programming, etc., and specifically in my role at the time, Greek life. My advice for anyone interested in the role is to pursue it. It's such a great role for someone beginning their higher education career or someone transitioning into the field from another profession! Hattiesburg is a great place to find yourself (especially after graduate school) to really get grounded and set. The community is growing, plus the food is great and the beach is only an hour away. Regardless of where you see yourself in 10-15 years, this role and the connections made through it will last a lifetime!"

- Kyle Duplantis, previous RLC for Cedarbrook Apartments and Fraternity Row

Kristopher Sullivan

"My experience as an RLC was one that I will always remember. The long-term impact you have on students is the most rewarding. I grew with the students as I learned daily, just like them. I have always recommended for students to live on campus, and now I say that every higher education professional should experience the housing world. I am not saying it will be easy, but it will definitely be the most rewarding yet."

- Kristopher Sullivan, previous RLC for Mississippi and Hattiesburg Halls
