Polymer Science and Engineering BS | Pre-Med Student

As a child growing up in Nigeria, my fascination with the sciences was greatly influenced by my father, who is a medical doctor. What drew me to Polymer Science and Engineering was its pragmatic approach to solving real-world problems, its track record of publishing research papers, and the abundance of resources. In two semesters of lab work, I conducted numerous experiments, collected data, and co-authored two high-impact research papers, alongside the guidance of a supportive community.

Learn by Doing

Find yourself actively participating in faculty-mentored research, seminars, and activities beyond the classroom. From designing and constructing a building to addressing today’s challenges through research and field-based experiences, here you will explore!

Assistant Professor in Coastal Sciences | Studies Fish Ecology and Gulf Sturgeon, a protected species in Mississippi

When I was pursuing my degree, I received invaluable guidance. Committed to paying it forward, I strive to support and mentor aspiring researchers on their academic and career journeys, just as my mentors did for me. By integrating undergrads into my Estuarine and Movement Ecology Lab's culture, I encourage them to engage in meetings and facilitate their involvement in research projects and funding opportunities.

We proudly boast a vibrant community of alumni that are soaring across industries and working at companies around the world. Here are some recent graduates.

Architectural Engineering Technology BS
Architectural Designer/ACM at GLUCK+ Architecture
Miami, Florida

Little did I know back then, but pursuing the AET program would eventually prove to be a significant advantage among my peers later in life. I vividly remember Yates Construction presenting the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino project during a project management course at 51¶ºÄÌ Miss. I remember thinking I’d love to work on a project of that magnitude one day. Today, here I am at Gluck+ Architecture, turning that dream of mine into a reality.
