Dr. Brigitte Burgess
Professor
Bio
Dr. Burgess teaches merchandising and marketing courses, focusing on retail merchandising, retail buying and assortment planning, and retail management and strategy. She is also highly involved in study abroad, leading courses in London, Milan, Florence and Hawaii. Dr. Burgess's research centers on teaching and consumer behavior in various retail environments. She is the recipient of the Joseph A. Greene Excellence in Teaching Award and the University’s Excellence in Teaching Award as well as the Business Advisory Council’s Service Award. She currently serves as the internship coordinator for Merchandising and oversees the Merchandising program, Apparel Construction and Design Certificate program, and the Retail Merchandising Certificate program.
