Bio

I graduated with my Ph.D. by researched climate change in central Europe in the 2nd to 4th centuries AD using dendroclimatology, palynology, ice cores, speleothems, etc. This interest helped me develop a tree ring research laboratory at the gulf park campus. I have researched various topics in dendro including dendroclimatology, dendroarchaeology, and flood and fire histories and continue to work in these fields with a great team.

Since teaching requires GIS experience, I have helped in various fields of mapping and spatial database management including transportation GIS and theoretical applications; cemetery mapping; ground penetrating RADAR; parcel-based landuse; blighted property surveys; hurricane mitigation and recovery; and historical archaeology. We have mapped several cemeteries using GPR, including forensic surveys.

My experience in teaching cultural geography courses and history degrees has led me to write various books and book chapters including topics of Minority Rig
