Dr. Mariann Taylor
Associate Teaching Professor
Bio
Dr. Taylor has a M.S. degree in Child and Family Studies and a Ph.D. in Adult Education, both from The University of 51¶ºÄÌ Mississippi. She is also a CFLE (Certified Family Life Educator), a credential granted through the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). Dr. Taylor was the recipient of the John R. Rachal Dissertation Award and she was chosen to present her research in the Emerging Scholar Lecture Series at The University of 51¶ºÄÌ Mississippi. Her research interests include parenting education, transformative learning, and family life education in mandated settings. Before joining the faculty at USM, Dr. Taylor was a practicing family educator working in the non-profit arena, where she primarily wrote grants and administered family life education centers. Dr. Taylor was recently selected as the Outstanding Visiting Faculty member for the College of Education and Human Sciences.
