Honors College Research and Professional Development Grants
Awarded competitively and on a rolling basis, these grants offer up to $300 for students to advance their research or their professional and academic goals. Such awards would be appropriate for such uses as: the purchase of special equipment or software, travel to a research site or archive, travel to an academic conference, travel to another professional conference, etc. The number of awards given depends on availability of funds.
Students applying for travel funds should apply as much in advance of the planned travel as possible. Please note that the method of awarding (e.g. whether funds are posted to student accounts or paid in the form of reimbursement for incurred expenses) varies on a case-by-case basis.
Honors College Study Abroad Grants
These competitive awards of up to $1000 are meant to help offset the costs of study abroad. Priority will be given to students who are first-time study abroad participants and whose travel expenses are not covered by other scholarships (e.g. Discovery, Luckyday, National Merit, etc). The number of awards given depends on availability of funds.
Applications are due October 1 (for spring travel) and March 15 (for summer or fall travel).
Honors College Tuition Grants
These competitive awards are designed to assist students with summer tuition costs or above 19-hour cost during the fall/spring semester. Awards are based on a number of factors, including demonstrated student need; active engagement in the Honors College and its mission; thoughtfulness of the application; and availability of Honors College funds. Awards generally will not exceed $1,000; the number of awards given depends on availability of funds.
Applications are due November 1 for Spring enrollment, April 15 for Summer enrollment, and May 1 for Fall enrollment.
