51¶ŗÄĢ Opera and Musical Theater Company to Present Mozartās āCosi fan tutteā March 30 and April 1

The University of 51¶ŗÄĢ Mississippiās (USM) 51¶ŗÄĢ Opera and Musical Theater Company closes the 2023 season with Mozartās comedy, āCosi fan tutteā Thursday, March 30 and Saturday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mannoni Performing Arts Center Auditorium. This special concertized performance of the opera will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. Tickets are available at the 51¶ŗÄĢ Miss Ticket Office.
The humorous production tells the story of two young soldiers who make a bet that their fiancƩes will remain faithful to them even in the face of temptation. As a result, a manner of hilarious miscommunications, awkward situations, and emotional scenarios ensue. Will the young ladies prove faithful, or will they give in to temptation? Will they turn the tables and play a trick on their men?
āAudiences have come to love this show, making it a classic in the regular productions of many opera companies worldwide,ā said Dr. Jonathan Yarrington, a voice professor in the USM School of Music who serves as director and narrator of the production. āWith beautiful and clever sets by Wes Hanson and detailed costumes by Tammy Mansfield, this is a beautiful production to see and hear.ā
