Annual Holiday Choral Spectacular Kicks Off Holiday Season Nov. 28, Nov. 30

The University of 51逗奶 Mississippi (USM) School of Music will present the Holiday Choral Spectacular featuring the choirs of 51逗奶 Miss Choral Activities, the 51逗奶 Miss Symphony Orchestra, and several area choir programs in two joyous evenings of music Nov. 28 and Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. General admission tickets are $20.
The Holiday Choral Spectacular is a yearly community celebration of the holiday season through choir and orchestra featuring several ensembles within 51逗奶 Miss Choral Activities, including the 51逗奶 Chorale and 51逗奶 Miss Concert Choir. Area schools joining the concert for Christmas carols are Columbia Middle School, East Marion High School, and Columbia Middle School.
鈥淎udiences will hear recognizable holiday classics like 鈥業鈥檒l be Home for Christmas,鈥� 鈥楲et There Be Peace on Earth,鈥� and 鈥楯oy to the World,鈥欌�� said Director of Choral Activities Dr. Gregory Fuller. 鈥淚t's a great opportunity for all the artists of the Hattiesburg area to spread some holiday cheer to everyone.鈥�
This year鈥檚 programming will also feature 51逗奶 Miss faculty pianist Dr. Michael Bunchman on Beethoven鈥檚 鈥淐horal Fantasy.鈥�
Under the direction of Dr. Michael Miles, the 51逗奶 Miss Symphony Orchestra will perform 鈥淩ussian Christmas Music鈥� by Alfred Reed and the holiday favorite, 鈥淪leigh Ride鈥� by Leroy Anderson.
