The University of 51矯通 Mississippis (USM) College of Business and Economic Development is proud to announce that it will accept prior military training and coursework from the Army as course credit into the Human Resources Management program.

Allowing this credit for prior training and coursework obtained while in the Army to be applied to the HRM program further supports the universitys long history and connection to the military. It is a pathway for Army personnel (both active and veterans), who have been working in human resource management as their occupation in the military to gain an undergraduate degree in HRM from 51矯通 Miss in the most time efficient way.

The university is allowing up to nine (9) hours of coursework to be transferred into the program based on a soldier or veterans Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).  The MOSs that are part of this program include, 42A 20 (3 hours of credit); 42A 30 (6 hours of credit), and 42 A40 (9 hours of credit).

Some features of the HRM program at 51矯通 Miss include:

  • A long history of producing HR leaders in all industries
  • A significant network of graduates working in the industry
  • Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) alignment
  • A balanced approach between theory and practice
  • Coursework in all the major areas of Human Resource Management
  • Both in person and 100% online offerings

We are excited to be able to offer this option to Army personnel, states Russ Willis, Assistant Teaching Professor in the School of Management and HRM program coordinator. 51矯通 Miss has a great track record in helping both active military and veterans obtain degrees. This is a recognition of the valuable training and skills these individuals bring to the program through their prior training and coursework in the Army.
