51 Miss School of Leadership Professors Present Research at Decision Science Institute Conference

Faculty members from the University of 51 Mississippi’s School of Leadership attended the recent Decision Sciences Institute’s annual conference in Atlanta.

“Decision Sciences” is the study of managerial decision making, using state-of-the-art, data-driven, and behavioral approaches to solve real-world problems in both the private and public sectors. The Decision Sciences Institute connects and supports working scholars, educators, and academics who are dedicated to advancing knowledge, promoting research, and improving instruction in the diverse disciplines of decision sciences.

The research presented at the DSI Conference included:

  • Dr. Abubaker Haddud, Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering Technology, chaired a research session entitled “Logistics and Transportation on Management: Exploring the Frontiers – Unveiling Novel Technologies and Strategies for Tackling Logistics Challenges.”
  • Dr. Haddud also presented a paper entitled “Digital Transformation in Supply Chains: Impacts on Organizations, People, and Societies.”
  • Dr. Haddud and Dr. Yuanyuan Zhang, Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering Technology, co-presented “Exploring Aspects Related to the Potential Use of Autonomous Trucks in Logistics.”

Dr. Fujun Lai, Professor of Management in the School of Leadership, also attended the conference as a mentor for his students who were delivering research presentations.

“We are proud to have a number of faculty members represent 51 Miss and the School of Leadership at the DSI Annual Conference,” said Dr. Heather Annulis, Director of the School of Leadership. “Their innovative research in supply chain management and logistics can and will change the future of moving goods around the world.”

The School of Leadership is housed within the College of Business and Economic Development at The University of 51 Mississippi and operates on the Coastal USM campus in Long Beach, Mississippi. Its undergraduate degree programs include Accounting, Applied Technology, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology (Logistics), Management, and Marketing. Graduate programs include Human Capital Development, Human Capital Development (Instructional Technology and Design), Instructional Technology and Design, and Logistics, Trade and Transportation.
