Making an Appointment

To arrange an appointment, call 601-266-5475 between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday or between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Friday. At all other times, a message may be left on the Clinic's confidential answering machine. Our intake personnel will return your call promptly, take necessary information and arrange an appointment for services. Both day and evening appointments are available. All inquiries will be treated with complete confidentiality.

If you are unsure if our services are right for you, you may ask for a consultation session. This consultation will allow you to meet the therapist and find out more about us without further obligation.

Payment for Services

Payment for services is determined based on a sliding fee scale, dependent on family income and family size. Fees range from $5 to $45 per session, payable by cash or check at the time services are rendered. The fee for USM students is $5 and $20 for USM faculty members. Please talk with your therapist if your fee needs to be adjusted. No one will be refused services due to financial constraints.

Risks and Benefits of Therapy

While most clients report positive results as they make changes in their lives, some clients experience interruptions in normal patterns, feelings, and relationships. These changes may add up to positive changes in the long run, but meanwhile, individuals, couples and families may feel discomfort and additional stress.

The University Clinic for Family Therapy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran’s status or handicap in the delivery of services.
