Eagles Write! is USM’s celebration of student writing, which coincides with the National Day on Writing in October. The National Day on Writing seeks to recognize and celebrate all forms of writing and their authors. At USM, we want to do the same. Our celebration, Eagles Write!, not only celebrates our students’ hard work and ingenuity, but also helps them to see the public work of the texts they produce. We want to recognize them as the authors they are. Every year, we collect nominated work from students enrolled in any first-year composition course. In the fall, we recognize these students’ work through events that celebrate their writing. Past events have included receptions, readings, and exhibits.
